Hal & Mal's (June 24, 2006)

And the No More Bullshit Tour 2006 rolls on...

We didn't have a definite setlist, but we played mostly originals and a few covers such as:

Streets Of Bakersfield
Great Atomic Power
Sam's Place
I Know A Little
Excuse Me I Think I've Got A Heartache
Honky Tonkin'
Honky Tonk Man (I think we played that)

That's fewer covers than we've played in a long, long time (with the exception of the beginning of the No More Bullshit Tour of 2006).

We started the set with a request from Sonya Sorrels, who was celebrating her birthday with her husband and some friends--she wanted to hear "Sometimes" off of "Up On Blocks."

We played all the new tunes, which so far are:

The Avenues (Brad sings)
Carolina Divorce Song (Chris sings)
California PSA (Steve sings)
Dust Of The 70s (Clinton sings)

Atmosphere

There was a friendly atmosphere in the joint as we knew lots of the peeps who showed up. Here's a roll call:

Natalie and Lucy, Sonya and her gang, Bobby and his friends, the Goodman County boys and their significant others, Paula and her posse...sorry if I left someone out...

When we got to the restaurant, there were no customers and we feared that didn't bode well for the show. We thought maybe the "state of emergency" declared in Jackson might be a problem, but the place did fill up with friends, so that's cool...

All in all, we had a good time playing and hanging out with everybody who was there...if you have any memories to share, please do...
